surprise visit

This weekend we had a surprise visit from our good friends Carolyn and Rebecca, along with their son Avery.  They were looking to get out of the city, and we were happy to have the company.  We grilled some dinner & had a nice time chatting, while Avery and Parker had a nice time playing in the back yard and learning to share.  They also had a good time playing "Baby Banger" on the computer, took a nice trip to the park, and ended the weekend with a nice kiss.  A good weekend overall!

We also had another doctor's appointment this week.  All is good with these critters - happy little heartbeats, and one of the babies had its butt in Baby A's face!  They're going to have a time-out and a little chat about appropriate behavior on day one.....

Summer pics

All is well with the ever-expanding Durrant-West clan.  The babies are doing well, and Dale is about as big as she got with Parker.  Two months to go!  She's stopped working for now, and spends most of her time plopped on the couch with her nose buried in a book.  Poor Hannah is running her booty off trying to keep up with everything!  Parker is her usual gleeful self.  She's adding words to her vocabulary all the time - the latest being "no," "mine," and "bubbles."  Here are some general pictures of summer, and of our trip to Ocracoke.  We got into trouble with the doctor for that one, by the way.  Our nurse practitioner said it wasn't recommended and gave us the official warnings, but we went anyway.  When our doctor found out we went, he had a fit - we think we might have gotten the nurse practitioner in trouble, even though we assured him we knew the risks and went anyway....
